The grandstands were named after the late Clarence Ruonavaara (click here), who took leadership role while in his early nineties, helping to raise local funds for restoration of the old grandstands (2009-2010). In 1948, he was instrumental in heading up the Lighting Committee that raised money from local residents through no-interest bearing bonds, bringing night time baseball to the town.
